“Google Pixel Users Report Rapid Battery Drain Issue”

Must Read

Some Android device users are experiencing a concerning issue where their phone batteries are draining rapidly even when idle, following a recent software update. Reports indicate that individuals are now having to charge their phones multiple times a day to sustain battery life. The problem seems to be primarily affecting Google’s Pixel phone range, prompting the tech company to acknowledge the issue and work on a solution.

Specific devices impacted by this battery drain problem include the Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 7A models. According to insights from 9to5Google, the issue may stem from excessive CPU wakeups, causing the phone to remain active in the background despite being unused and the screen turned off.

Users have shared their frustrations, with one individual named Phil stating that both their and their spouse’s Pixel 7A devices have been affected since mid-March, experiencing sudden battery drops and slow charging. Another Pixel owner, Fz, expressed similar concerns, noting a significant increase in battery consumption since the March update, requiring three charges per day and observing battery drainage even during idle periods.

However, not all Pixel users are facing these battery issues, with some individuals like Warren reporting normal battery performance without noticeable drain. Google is actively investigating the matter and is expected to release an update to address the issue promptly. Updates on this situation will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.
