“Man Goes on Train Stabbing Spree, Injuring 11 Passengers”

Must Read

A passenger recounted a harrowing incident where a man attacked passengers on a train in Huntingdon after uttering threatening words. Stephen Crean from London, who confronted the assailant during the mass stabbing, shared that the man brandished a blade at him and menacingly asked if he wanted to die multiple times. The chaotic episode unfolded shortly after Stephen boarded the train at Grantham following a football game between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United. Passengers began running through the carriage warning about a man with a knife.

Stephen described how passengers sought safety near the buffet bar on the train as the situation escalated. He found himself in a face-off with the attacker who repeatedly threatened him with the blade. The violent altercation left eleven passengers injured on the LNER train traveling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. The train made an emergency stop at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, about an hour into the journey. Among the injured, four individuals were discharged from the hospital, while two, including a heroic train worker, remained in critical condition.

Anthony Williams, aged 32, faced charges of ten counts of attempted murder and one count of actual bodily harm in connection with the knife attack. Additional charges were brought against him for a separate attempted murder incident on London’s DLR network earlier in November, according to the British Transport Police. Williams, appearing in court in a grey tracksuit, was denied bail due to the severity of the offenses. He is scheduled to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on December 1, 2025, as the charges were presented to him.

During the court proceedings, Williams declined to enter pleas and when asked about his address, he vaguely mentioned having “no fixed abode.”
