Sky customers in the UK are in for more exciting entertainment options as HBO Max has officially launched in the country. Subscribers with Sky Ultimate TV packages can now enjoy HBO Max for free, gaining access to popular shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more without the usual monthly fee of £4.99, equating to savings exceeding £50.
Sky has confirmed that Sky Stream, Sky Glass, and Sky Q customers with the appropriate packages will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This new service, well-known in the USA, offers a vast array of HBO dramas, including classics like The Wire and popular Max Originals like The Pitt, along with a wide selection of Warner Bros. films.
Getting started with HBO Max is a straightforward process for eligible Sky customers. By launching the HBO Max app from the homepage, users can follow on-screen instructions to activate the service and enjoy on-demand streaming of their favorite content.
For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to it is an option starting at £22 per month, increasing to £24 from April 1st. This package includes over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed enthusiasm about this new offering, stating, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW, bringing together Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu in a single subscription, providing a unique and integrated entertainment experience.”
Additionally, NOW Entertainment customers will also receive HBO Max integrated into the NOW app at no extra cost. Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
