An individual known as the “human Barbie” influencer was discovered deceased and partially unclothed at the residence of a public official. Barbara Jankavski Marquez, aged 31, was tragically found dead after the public defender, aged 51, informed authorities that he had engaged her for “sexual services” the previous night. The official, residing at the location where the deceased influencer was located on Sunday, alleged that they had consumed drugs together. The incident occurred in the Lapa district of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she started coughing and eventually appeared to fall asleep while watching TV.
The official mentioned that he attempted resuscitation efforts for around nine minutes after realizing she had ceased moving before contacting emergency services. Paramedics declared the influencer deceased at approximately 9 pm. She was found lying on her back wearing only underwear, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back.
A female acquaintance of the public defender, aged 43, stated to investigators that she had been present at the property earlier in the day but was not there when the “human Barbie” passed away. She claimed to have witnessed the influencer slipping and falling around 4 am, resulting in an eye injury.
Law enforcement disclosed that the incident was classified as a suspicious death, and they are awaiting forensic and toxicological reports to ascertain the cause of death. Both witnesses are expected to be summoned for further interrogation, and the influencer’s relatives will be interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Barbara, recognized online as “Boneca Desumana” (‘Inhuman Doll’), had amassed over 344,000 followers on TikTok and 55,000 on Instagram. She frequently shared details of her extensive cosmetic surgery journey, which included over 27 procedures costing more than £43,000 (BRL 300,000). These surgeries encompassed various drastic interventions such as neck, abdomen, and leg liposuction, breast and buttock enhancements, eyebrow lifts, and five rhinoplasties to achieve a doll-like appearance.
This incident follows the tragic death of an actress and influencer, believed to have been brutally murdered within 30 minutes of a live stream by a VIP fan. Yoon Ji-ah was assaulted and strangled to death, with her body found in a suitcase in the mountains on 11 September. Yoon was filming in Yeongjong Island, Incheon, South Korea, approximately three hours away from where her body was eventually located. An autopsy revealed that her cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression.
