“Husband Pushes Pregnant Wife Off Cliff for Insurance Money”

Must Read

A man who calculatedly pushed his pregnant wife off a cliff in Turkey after taking a selfie with her is now imprisoned. Hakan Aysal, 40, shoved his 32-year-old wife Semra Aysal off a 1,000-foot cliff at Butterfly Valley in Mugla province soon after photographing her. The court revealed that Semra, who was seven months pregnant, was tragically killed by her husband to benefit from a life insurance policy he had purchased.

Aysal deceptively led his wife, who had a fear of heights, to the cliff’s edge under the pretense of taking a selfie before callously pushing her off. The couple spent hours on the slope before the husband committed the heinous act when no one else was around. Suspicions arose when photos of the couple circulated, leading to a witness recalling the incident.

Footage captured by a passerby depicted Aysal and his wife descending a rocky landscape to the edge. Following the incident, Aysal attempted to claim a £40,000 insurance payout shortly after his wife’s death, but police intervened upon suspicion. Bank records revealed Aysal had taken out loans in his wife’s name and subsequently indulged in a lavish lifestyle post her demise.

Aysal faced an indictment for premeditated murder, with prosecutors highlighting his scheme to secure a significant insurance payout for himself. He was sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison and showed no remorse during the trial, even appearing carefree as he sought help from passersby. Despite his incarceration, Aysal attempted to file legal cases against individuals who allegedly insulted him online, aiming to profit from lawsuits.
