A massive search operation is underway following the fatal shooting of two individuals and the injury of at least 10 others in a popular tourist destination in Greece. Authorities believe that up to five armed individuals are at large in the village of Vorizia, located in Crete. The incident occurred during a violent confrontation, resulting in the deaths of a 56-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man.
Emergency services responded to the scene, transporting six injured individuals to nearby hospitals for treatment of various wounds sustained during the shooting, which is suspected to be related to a longstanding family dispute. Two men are currently hospitalized under police guard as part of the ongoing investigation into the armed conflict.
In response to the incident, heavily armed forces have secured the village, with top police officials mobilizing to the area for a comprehensive operation.
