“Tragic Model Aircraft Accident Claims Man’s Life”

Must Read

A man tragically lost his life in an unusual incident when he was struck by his own toy plane, resulting in severe injuries. Roger Wallace, aged 60, was operating a large model aircraft at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tuscon, Arizona, when the accident occurred. Due to sunlight interference, he lost sight of the plane, weighing approximately 3kgs, which led to critical damage to his heart and lung. Despite efforts by his friends and prompt emergency response, Roger succumbed to his injuries at the location.

Roger had been an active member of the Southern Arizona Modelers, a radio-controlled airplane organization, for three years. Club President Jerry Knebel described the incident as incredibly rare and unexpected, emphasizing the safety measures typically observed during their activities. Prior to his involvement with model airplanes, Roger had been engaged in drag racing and sought a safer pastime.

Knebel highlighted Roger’s belief in the safety of flying compared to his previous hobby, stating that the club prioritized safety protocols and had a longstanding record of accident-free operations. Roger was remembered in his obituary as a beloved and vibrant individual, deeply missed by his loved ones.

In a separate incident, aviation enthusiast Tang Feiji tragically passed away during a live broadcast when his twin-rotor aircraft crashed in Jiange County, central China. Despite the audience’s pleas for help, Tang could not be saved and was declared dead at the scene. Known for his flying content, Tang had a substantial online following on the Chinese social media platform Douyin.
