Morrisons and M&S Recall Products Over Allergy Risks

Must Read

Morrisons issues a vital alert regarding a product that may present a potential health risk to certain individuals. Customers are urged to return affected batches of the supermarket’s own-brand ‘Savers Salad Cream’ with the batch code ‘L25 122’ to their nearest stores for a full refund. The concern is that these items might contain undisclosed egg and mustard, ingredients not listed on the label.

According to Morrisons, the recall applies to products with a date code of Best Before End AUG/2026, Batch L25 122, as they could pose a health risk to individuals allergic to egg or mustard. The supermarket emphasizes that no other products are impacted by this issue and apologizes for any inconvenience caused, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining high product quality and safety standards.

The affected Savers Salad Cream batches have a best-before date of August 2026 and are 420g in size, as indicated by information from the Government’s Food Standards Agency (FSA). The FSA explains that food products may be withdrawn or recalled if there are concerns about allergen labeling or other potential risks to consumers, with an Allergy Alert issued in case of a food allergy risk.

For customers who have purchased the recalled product, Morrisons advises against consuming it and encourages them to return it to any Morrisons store for a full refund, with no receipt needed. For further inquiries, customers can contact Morrisons Customer Services at 0345 611 6111.

In a separate development, M&S is recalling a specific batch of ‘Milk Chocolate Honeycomb’ over fears it may contain peanuts not listed on the packaging. The affected packs, weighing 120g with lot number ‘5242’ and best-before dates of May 12, 2026, are subject to the recall. M&S underscores its commitment to customer safety and urges individuals with peanut allergies or intolerances to avoid these products and return them to any M&S store for a full refund.

The FSA notes that Marks & Spencer is recalling the product and advises that relevant allergy support organizations will inform their members about the recall. Additionally, the company has issued a point-of-sale notice to explain the reason for the recall and provide guidance to customers who have purchased the product.
