Pressure continues to build on Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to provide testimony regarding the Epstein files, with a leaked private email conversation surfacing discussing allegations of consensual relations between the former Duke of York and one of Jeffrey Epstein’s employees.
In a significant move last month, King Charles III stripped the 65-year-old of his titles and revoked all official affiliations with the Crown. Andrew, now without the title ‘His Royal Highness’, has been instructed to leave Royal Lodge and move to a property within Norfolk’s Sandringham estate.
This action comes after years of controversy surrounding Andrew’s association with Epstein, who passed away in 2019. Allegations by Epstein whistleblower Virginia Giuffre accusing Andrew of engaging in sexual activities with her when she was a minor trafficking victim have been vehemently denied by Andrew.
US Lawmakers recently voted overwhelmingly to release the Epstein files, shedding light on an email exchange between Epstein and former New York Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr, discussing Andrew’s involvement.
Epstein, who faced legal troubles for solicitation of prostitution and sex trafficking, sought advice from Thomas Jr on distancing himself from Andrew to mitigate the ongoing negative publicity. Thomas Jr’s email suggested that acknowledging the consensual nature of Andrew’s relationship with an unnamed employee might help shift the narrative.
When approached for comment, Thomas Jr clarified that he had only repeated information from the media about Andrew’s alleged interactions with the employee, emphasizing that Epstein had not personally disclosed this to him.
Following the release of documents from Epstein’s estate, there has been a call for investigations into Epstein’s connections, including with figures like Bill Clinton. However, no public allegations have been made against Clinton by Epstein associates.
US officials have noted the swift action taken in the UK to address Andrew’s situation and have suggested a similar urgency in seeking justice. There are talks of Andrew potentially testifying before Congress, with a formal request for his participation in an interview sent by the House Oversight Committee.
As the deadline for Andrew’s response to the interview request approaches, the Committee emphasizes the gravity of the situation and the need for cooperation in their investigation.
