A 30-year-old married teacher, Nicole Hernandez, who goes by the name Nikki Baird, is accused of engaging in sexual activities with a 17-year-old student in her Jeep. Hernandez allegedly initiated inappropriate contact with the boy, including hugging and touching, before progressing to a sexual relationship in 2024. Reports suggest that Hernandez, who claimed to have marital issues, bombarded the teenager with messages professing her desires to be with him.
The teacher first met the student at a Kansas middle school and later at Wichita North High School, where she allegedly isolated him from his peers. As their relationship developed, they began meeting outside of school premises, with Hernandez allegedly making advances towards the student, including handholding and suggesting kissing. The victim, feeling pressured, eventually engaged in sexual activities with Hernandez, who allegedly assured him that they wouldn’t face consequences due to his impending graduation.
After realizing the impropriety of their relationship, the former student cut off communication with Hernandez and reported the incidents to his family and authorities. Hernandez was arrested on May 22 and is set to appear in court on December 19 to address the charges against her.
