“Made in Chelsea Star Reveals End-Stage Liver Disease Diagnosis”

Must Read

Made in Chelsea personality Sam Vanderpump shared that he initially mistook common symptoms for flu before being informed of a potentially limited lifespan. On a recent episode of the reality show Made in Chelsea, the 28-year-old disclosed his diagnosis of irreversible end-stage liver disease. Medical professionals cautioned him that without an organ transplant, he might have less than five years to live.

During a candid conversation with friends Ollie Locke and Tabitha Willett on Channel 4, Sam revealed the grim prognosis he had received from doctors. He expressed that his liver’s condition was beyond repair and that his future was uncertain. However, he maintained a positive attitude, stating his hope for continued health until the transplant procedure.

Currently, Sam, who is anticipating his first child with fiancée Alice Yaxley, remains uncertain about the timing of the transplant as he acknowledges other patients in more critical condition. His battle with end-stage liver disease follows a severe bout with sepsis in December, where his liver and kidneys failed, putting his life in jeopardy.

Reflecting on the past ordeal, Sam admitted to initially dismissing the symptoms as flu-like, including back pain and dehydration. Fortunately, his partner’s quick actions led to timely medical intervention, preventing a fatal outcome. Sam attributed the health scare to a genetic disorder that triggered a severe infection escalating into sepsis.

In a conversation with OK! magazine, Sam recounted the frightening experience and acknowledged the importance of recognizing early warning signs. He emphasized the ease with which flu symptoms could be mistaken for a serious condition like sepsis, urging vigilance in monitoring health changes.

Sam also shared his emotional journey with the Daily Mail, recalling the fear of mortality and the support he received from loved ones during his hospitalization. He expressed gratitude for the medical intervention that saved his life and underscored the critical role of timely medical attention in his recovery.
