Concerns over the health of former President Donald Trump have resurfaced following observations of him exhibiting a noticeable limp while engaging with his grandson.
Accompanied by his nine-year-old grandson, Theodore Kushner, Donald Trump was spotted at the White House Presidential Walk of Fame, where they were seen tossing around an NFL football. However, many noted that the 79-year-old appeared to struggle to walk in a straight line, with a video capturing the moment garnering nearly a million views on social media.
Online users jokingly commented on Trump’s gait, with one suggesting a breathalyser test might be in order under different circumstances, while others made light-hearted remarks about walking similarly when intoxicated. Some referred to the president as “Limpy Don” and expressed concerns about his well-being, particularly noting his left leg dragging in the footage.
These observations follow remarks from a clinical psychologist, Dr. John Gartner, who highlighted issues with Trump’s right leg movement, indicating a potential decline in coordination that could be associated with dementia. Dr. Gartner pointed out that changes in motor skills, including walking patterns, are often indicative of cognitive decline.
Further analysis by Dr. Gartner suggested that Trump’s walking style, specifically a pronounced swing in his right leg, could signal Frontotemporal dementia, a specific type of cognitive impairment. This observation was supported by other experts who identified similar patterns in the president’s gait.
Dr. Gartner shared insights from forensic psychiatrist Dr. Zoffman, who believed that Trump’s right leg swing was a distinctive marker of Frontotemporal dementia. Despite these concerns, Trump has dismissed health worries, referring to a recent White House examination that affirmed his cognitive and physical well-being. Earlier speculations about bruises on his hand were attributed to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood circulation.
