“Vodafone Launches 5G Wi-Fi Router for Fast, Easy Internet”

Must Read

Vodafone introduces a new way to connect to the internet with its latest Wi-Fi router that operates on a 5G mobile network instead of traditional copper or fiber cables. This innovation is particularly beneficial for households without access to high-speed full fiber connections or for individuals seeking more flexibility, such as renters or students who frequently change residences.

One of the key advantages of this new system is its easy installation process. Since it utilizes Vodafone’s network, there is no requirement for a technician to visit or perform any drilling. Users can simply plug the device into a power source, switch it on, and immediately start browsing the web.

It is important to note that this new system offers speeds of up to 150Mbps, which is suitable for activities like streaming movies on platforms like Netflix, sending emails, and working from home. However, it falls short of the speeds provided by full fiber connections, which can exceed 900Mbps.

For instance, downloading a full HD movie using this 5G router would take approximately 8 minutes, compared to just 40 seconds with a fiber gigabit connection. To assist consumers in making informed decisions, Vodafone has launched an integrated availability checker on its website. By entering their postcode, customers can determine whether full fiber or 5G Broadband offers the fastest speeds in their area.

Vodafone previously offered internet access through its GigaCube device, which has now been replaced by this new router. According to Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, the launch of Vodafone 5G Broadband aims to provide households with a faster and more reliable alternative to conventional broadband services.

In addition to Vodafone, Three, now part of Vodafone, also provides a similar service. Vodafone’s plans start at £21 per month, while Three’s home broadband is currently priced at £11 for the initial nine months.
