“Millions to Receive Early Benefit Payments from DWP”

Must Read

Millions of individuals are set to receive their benefit payments ahead of schedule this week from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Various benefits, including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, and state pension, may be affected depending on the usual payment dates. Payments scheduled for Thursday, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day will be processed earlier than usual on Christmas Eve due to DWP not making payments on bank holidays.

Those receiving early payments should budget to ensure funds last until the next payment cycle. If expecting a benefit payment on Thursday, January 1, it is likely to be received on Wednesday, December 31 instead.

In case of any delays in benefit payments, individuals are advised to contact the relevant office online or by phone, or visit their local JobCentre once operational. It’s important to note that helplines will be closed on bank holidays, reopening on the next working day.

While most benefits are distributed by the DWP, Tax Credits and Child Benefit are managed by HMRC. Child Benefit payments, typically issued on Mondays and Tuesdays, should remain unaffected by Christmas bank holidays.
