“Bystanders Thwart Abduction Attempt in Birmingham”

Two individuals were reportedly attempting to abduct a 15-year-old girl from a bustling city center street but were thwarted by courageous bystanders. The incident, captured on CCTV around 4pm on Saturday on Ladypool Road in Birmingham, showed the teenager being accosted by two men as she walked along the street. They tried to force her into the back seat of a parked white Dacia, but onlookers intervened and prevented the abduction.

Witnesses blocked the car to prevent its escape, allowing the girl to break free. Authorities have confirmed that the 15-year-old is receiving support from specialized officers, while the two suspects have been formally charged with kidnapping. The accused individuals, identified as Mohammed Ali, 49, and his son Luqman Ali, 20, are also facing charges of false imprisonment and assault. They are currently in custody and were scheduled to appear before magistrates on Monday.

West Midlands Police disclosed that the suspects were swiftly apprehended, and the girl managed to flee to a nearby store. The police department released a statement indicating that the two men had been charged with kidnapping in connection to the incident on Ladypool Road. They emphasized that the victim, suspects, and passers-by were of British Asian descent.
