“Saturday Night Live UK Spoofs Prince Harry & Meghan’s Visit”

Must Read

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent visit to England was parodied on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live UK, showcasing a frosty reception in typical British style. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the subjects of satire during the show’s Season 2 premiere.

The skit, lasting four minutes and 52 seconds, took jabs at various aspects of the couple’s lives, including their Netflix deal, Meghan’s TV projects, and the ongoing controversies within the Royal Family related to race.

The sketch opened with actors portraying Prince Harry and Meghan visiting King Charles and Queen Camilla at a fictional Balmoral Castle. The interaction depicted a less-than-enthusiastic welcome from the royal family, especially towards the couple’s financial situation and post-royal endeavors.

A humorous exchange unfolded about the couple’s Netflix earnings and Meghan’s lifestyle brand promotion on the platform. The skit also referenced the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, alluding to the discussions around their son Archie’s skin color.

Additionally, the parody included a spoof of Britain’s new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, as the show teased his desire to appear relatable while being overshadowed by Prince Harry and Meghan’s presence.

Prince Harry and Meghan, accompanied by their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, returned to the UK from the United States recently. The family has chosen to reside privately outside of London, with their children already enrolled in British schools.

The purpose behind their relocation remains undisclosed, but the couple seems to be settling back into life in the UK.
