“Former Beauty Queen Receives Life Sentence for Toddler’s Death”

Must Read

A former beauty pageant queen has been handed a life sentence for the tragic death of her boyfriend’s 18-month-old son. Trinity Poague, 19, faced two counts of felony murder and was found guilty in a Georgia court after fatally injuring the toddler in 2024. Poague, who previously held the title of Miss Donalsonville, was stripped of her crown following the incident.

The child, admitted to a hospital in Americus, Georgia, succumbed to injuries sustained from blunt-force trauma inflicted by Poague. Witnesses reported hearing the infant crying in distress before the cries abruptly ceased. Poague’s text messages expressing frustration with the child and her boyfriend were presented as evidence during the trial.

In a solemn courtroom scene, Poague received the life sentence from Judge W. James Sizemore Jr. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crime and handed down additional charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to a child. Despite Poague maintaining composure during sentencing, she broke down in tears upon hearing the jury’s verdict. She was sentenced to life in prison for the murder and an additional 20 years, to be served concurrently.
