Research from Washington State University reveals that spending just ten minutes petting a dog or cat can significantly reduce cortisol levels, explaining why interactions with pets feel rejuvenating. This bonding moment fosters trust and emotional connections, with pet owners often noting improved morning moods and reduced depressive symptoms.

However, not all aspects of sharing a bed with pets are positive. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine warns that a third of pet owners experience sleep disruptions due to their pets’ movements, snoring, or early waking habits, impacting sleep quality.
