“Tiger Woods Takes Indefinite Golf Break Post-Surgery”

Must Read

Tiger Woods has announced that he will be taking an indefinite break from golf following a recent back surgery in October. This latest surgery marks the seventh procedure specifically on his back, with a total of three major surgeries over the past two years, including on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite his illustrious career that began nearly 30 years ago, Woods has been struggling with injuries, with his last major win at the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year drought. Recently, he hosted the Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas but acknowledges that a significant recovery period lies ahead before he can return to playing competitively.

In a lighthearted comment, Woods quipped about playing numerous events on both tours but later emphasized the importance of focusing on his recovery before committing to any future schedule. He mentioned that he has just been cleared to resume chipping and putting after six weeks, highlighting the slow progress due to the nature of his recent disc replacement surgery.

Looking ahead, Woods remains motivated by the opportunity to break a significant PGA record by surpassing the 82 tournament wins shared with golf legend Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, recently pointed out that one of the biggest challenges for Woods’ comeback is the physical demand of walking the course post-surgery.
