A village in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region was struck by a missile attack from Russia, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals, as confirmed by Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, which targeted a bustling intersection in Pechenihy, a location with essential services and residential buildings. Images shared by Zelenskyy depicted the aftermath of the attack, showing a destroyed building, burning vehicles, and emergency personnel aiding injured individuals.
Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that 17 people were also wounded in the assault, which caused significant damage to 10 private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and multiple vehicles in the village. The use of two small Banderol cruise missiles by Russia in the attack was disclosed by Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
Additionally, Ukraine launched a large-scale drone offensive targeting Moscow and its surroundings, deploying 620 drones in one of Kyiv’s most extensive air assaults on the region. Russian forces intercepted 180 drones over the Moscow area, with reports of drone strikes causing damage to a warehouse belonging to the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries. The attacks also extended to other Russian-controlled regions, including Crimea, resulting in power supply disruptions in various settlements.
In response to the drone attacks, Russia warned Britain about the consequences of providing drones to Ukraine for use in attacks on Russian territory. The Russian embassy in London issued a statement cautioning that Britain’s involvement in supporting Ukraine’s actions would have repercussions. While the British Defence Ministry did not confirm the use of British drones, the UK previously pledged to supply Ukraine with 150,000 drones by the end of 2026 as part of a substantial funding package.
