A series of Russian missile and drone attacks in and around Ukraine’s capital resulted in injuries to a minimum of 16 individuals overnight and through Thursday morning, as confirmed by local authorities.
The Kyiv City Military Administration disclosed that the assaults occurred at over 10 different locations. Among those harmed were a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, as stated in a release on Telegram by the administration.
As per Ukraine’s Air Force, they successfully neutralized or eliminated 131 Russian airborne targets during the nocturnal offensive. The primary regions under attack included Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, with strikes recorded at 36 sites. Additionally, debris from intercepted targets fell at five locations.
The assault reportedly involved ballistic and cruise missiles, along with 157 drones and decoys. Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed that their military targeted metallurgical and electronics plants, military-industrial complex factories, as well as energy and transport facilities in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions.
In Odesa, seven individuals, including two children, were wounded according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Several structures were damaged, including apartments in a residential building on the 14th to 16th floors.
Moreover, a private residence in Odesa was demolished, while various sites including warehouses, a kindergarten, and vehicles sustained damage in other locations, as highlighted in a statement by the service on Telegram.
In Kyiv’s Dniprovsky district, a warehouse, an office building, residential structures, and vehicles were affected as per local authorities. Damage was also reported in the Solomyansky and Darnitsky districts.
The Kyiv region, specifically the Obukhiv, Brovary, Fastiv, and Bucha districts, witnessed targeting of civilian areas and infrastructure, as per Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Administration. A total of 33 locations experienced damage, with Brovary district facing the most severe impact on 14 sites and Fastiv district on 10 sites, as per Tkachenko’s statement on Telegram.
The affected areas included private residences, warehouses, production facilities, and vehicles. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in these incidents.
