Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that it would increase its airstrikes on targets in Kyiv and other areas of Ukraine in response to recent comments made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ministry stated that Russian forces will escalate attacks on military installations, defense industry facilities, and associated infrastructure in Kyiv and various regions in Ukraine.
In an interview with Reuters, Zelenskyy disclosed that Ukraine plans to ramp up strikes on Russian oil refineries as a countermeasure to Moscow’s new airstrike strategy aimed at compelling residents to evacuate Kyiv and other urban centers. However, Zelenskyy emphasized that civilian targets will not be pursued.
In a separate incident, a drone fire caused a blaze at an industrial site in Russia’s Krasnodar region, specifically in the Temryuk district, as reported by regional authorities on Sunday. Three individuals sustained injuries and were undergoing medical treatment, while emergency response teams were actively engaged at the scene.
