Nicola Golen’s goal in the 92nd minute of extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. This goal earned the league-leading Rapid an additional point in their standings, alongside Melanie Forbes’ goal in the 13th minute.
The match saw Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky scoring for third-place Toronto (7-4-4) in response to Ottawa’s performance. Both teams were left with 10 players each after red cards were shown to Choo Hyojoo of Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto in the 63rd minute.
Additionally, earlier on the same day, TD Place in Ottawa was declared as the chosen venue for the upcoming Northern Super League final scheduled for November 14th.
