“Las Vegas Grand Prix Proceeds Despite Recent Floods”

Must Read

Despite recent floods in Las Vegas, the upcoming Formula 1 weekend is set to proceed without weather disruptions. Heavy rain on Tuesday led to localized flooding in the city, with social media sharing dramatic footage of the waterlogged streets. However, the situation improved quickly, with much of the standing water evaporating by Wednesday morning.

Although there were still some lingering water patches near the Linq Hotel, the conditions had significantly subsided. The Formula 1 spokesperson refrained from commenting on the weather situation, indicating no concerns for the weekend’s track activities.

Showers returned on Wednesday afternoon during media day, but did not cause any additional standing water issues on the circuit. More rain is forecasted for Thursday evening and Friday morning, but conditions are expected to clear up by the weekend, with a dry race anticipated on Saturday night.

Las Vegas Grand Prix organizers are optimistic that the wet weather won’t deter spectators, especially with reduced ticket prices and increased track activities. Ticket sales are up by approximately 50% compared to the previous year, with expectations of a sell-out event. Additionally, the F1 Academy series finale will add excitement for supporters.

In the championship race, Lando Norris leads with a 24-point advantage over Oscar Piastri, who is struggling to regain his top form. Max Verstappen remains in contention but faces a significant points gap to catch up. Following the Las Vegas race, the season concludes with the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.

Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to include popular streaming services and extensive Formula 1 coverage along with other sports events.
