Eddie Hearn has not ruled out the possibility of a surprising match-up between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua, as Paul is seeking a new opponent. Originally scheduled to face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in Miami, Florida on November 14, the fight is now uncertain due to allegations of battery and kidnapping against Davis. Most Valuable Promotions, Paul’s camp, has confirmed an investigation is underway and is exploring alternative opponents.
In response to the situation, Most Valuable Promotions stated that they are actively investigating the civil lawsuit against Gervonta Davis to ensure a well-informed decision. They have emphasized their stance against violence and are approaching the matter with thoroughness and respect for all involved. No further comments will be made until the review process is completed.
While Paul’s new opponent has not been disclosed yet, potential contenders such as Ryan Garcia, Edgar Berlanga, and even Anthony Joshua have been mentioned. Hearn, the promoter, recently hinted at the possibility of a bout between Joshua and Paul in the future. Joshua, who hasn’t fought since his defeat against Daniel Dubois in September 2024, is unlikely to step into the ring again this year according to Hearn. The focus is on confirming a fight date in February, although a late 2025 bout is not entirely ruled out.
