Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a successful trial of a new unstoppable and lethal underwater weapon. The Poseidon high-speed torpedo, equipped with a nuclear warhead and powered by its atomic reactor, was tested this week. Russian experts suggest that this weapon could generate tidal waves, causing devastation to islands and coastal areas, positioning it as a critical asset in the event of a potential World War Three scenario.
Russian state TV has been advocating for the use of the Poseidon against the UK amid escalating tensions between the two nations. Notable Putin supporter Vladimir Solovyov issued ominous warnings, suggesting that Britain would cease to exist if the Poseidon were unleashed, urging the British to prepare for the worst.
Solovyov further stoked fear by questioning how long the British could survive underwater if the Poseidon were deployed, labeling it a doomsday weapon. Despite recommending the evacuation of Russian diplomats in London and Edinburgh in anticipation of a strike, Solovyov advised against aiding Russian dissidents residing in London, whom he accused of betraying their country.
Putin lauded the capabilities of the Poseidon weapon, highlighting its successful launch from a submarine and activation of the nuclear power plant. The weapon is touted to outperform even the most advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles in Russia’s arsenal. The Poseidon is anticipated to operate at speeds of up to 115mph underwater, reaching depths exceeding 3,000ft, with the capacity to carry nuclear warheads of up to 100 megatons, posing a significant threat of catastrophic destruction.
