Freeview has confirmed that on 20th May 2026, certain broadcasters are making adjustments to their channels. This means viewers need to retune their TVs to maintain an updated TV guide and channel lineup.
Among the changes, two channels have been rebranded: Hobbycraft TV on channel 97 is now known as Shop Unlimited, and Great! Romance Mix on channel 61 has been replaced by Great! TV +1. Additionally, channel numbers are shifting, with Great! Movies moving from channel 61 to channel 62, and Great! TV +1 taking over channel 61.
Freeview emphasized that channel providers are continuously evolving their offerings on the platform, making decisions to relocate, add, or remove channels. The platform aims to provide audiences with a diverse and engaging content selection.
If the updates do not automatically appear on your TV, manual retuning may be necessary. To retune your TV, follow these steps:
– Press the menu button on your TV or set-top box remote
– Select “set-up”, “installation”, “update”, or a similar option
– If prompted for a password, try “1234” or “0000”
– Choose “first-time installation”, “factory reset”, “full retune”, or “default settings”
– Confirm deletion of existing channels if asked
– The retune process should begin automatically
– Save any channels found during the scan if prompted
