Former President Donald Trump strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s administration and condemned the shooting of two guards at the White House as a severe offense. Trump referred to Biden as the worst president in U.S. history, accusing him of permitting 20 million unidentified and unvetted individuals into the country.
In a national address following the tragic incident on November 26, where two guards were deliberately shot, Trump denounced the act as evil, hateful, and terrorist, describing it as a crime against the entire nation. He expressed solidarity with the West Virginia National Guard members and their families, emphasizing the nation’s sorrow and anger over the attack.
Identifying the suspect as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, Trump criticized the Biden administration for allowing his entry in September 2021 without proper vetting. Reports revealed that Lakanwal had a military background in Afghanistan and had served alongside U.S. Special Forces troops.
A relative of the suspected shooter, who had served with him in Afghanistan, expressed shock at the incident, highlighting Lakanwal’s past involvement with the U.S. military. Trump criticized the previous administration for admitting millions of unvetted foreigners into the country, emphasizing the need to reassess individuals entering the U.S. from Afghanistan.
Amidst the turmoil, an Afghan advocacy group expressed sadness over the attack and urged against targeting or harming Afghans resettling in the U.S. In response to the assault, Trump deployed an additional 500 soldiers to enhance security in the capital and pledged to ensure justice for the perpetrator of the heinous attack.
