A court has heard that a 15-year-old boy, identified as a teenager, stabbed a 15-year-old boy 11 times and also knifed his girlfriend in the chest. The incident was described as a planned attack in response to a previous altercation where a friend of the accused was injured by a metal pole.
The accused reportedly carried a knife hidden in his waistband and approached the victims at a bus stop outside a convenience store. He allegedly attacked the boy from behind and also stabbed a 14-year-old girl who tried to intervene. The accused is facing charges, including attempted murder, as he went on trial at Liverpool Crown Court.
During the trial, CCTV footage was shown to the jury, capturing the accused and his friend wearing tracksuits with hoods up at the scene of the incident. The prosecution detailed how the accused circled behind the boy and attacked him with a knife, causing serious stab wounds to both the boy and his girlfriend.
The injured victims were rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and have since recovered from their injuries. The stabbing incident followed a prior conflict in the area, leading to the violent confrontation outside a local shop. The accused was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene, sustaining a cut to his hand in the process.
Witnesses, including a pub landlord and a passing nurse, provided first aid to the injured boy before medical help arrived. The prosecution argued that the attack was premeditated, emphasizing the severity of the injuries inflicted and alleging that the accused intended to kill the boy. The trial continues with the accused claiming he only intended to cause serious injury, not death.
