“Stellantis Recalls 1.5M Ram Trucks Over Seat Belt Issue”

Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, announced on Friday the recall of more than 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks globally due to a seat belt problem. The recall affects Ram 1500 vehicles manufactured from 2019 to 2026 that may have a second-row center or driver side seat belt buckle anchor that was not properly attached to the vehicle structure. This issue could compromise the second-row seat belt system’s effectiveness, potentially increasing the risk of injury to occupants. Stellantis has reported one injury possibly linked to the recall but no fatalities. The recall involves 1.27 million vehicles in the U.S., 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico, and approximately 75,000 outside North America. Impacted vehicle owners will be contacted by the automaker to arrange for an inspection at dealerships. Dealers will examine the second-row center and driver seat belt buckle anchor, ensuring proper attachment to the vehicle’s body if necessary.
