A woman known as “Satan’s puppet” has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for unlawfully entering her neighbor’s home, murdering her, and consuming her blood. Cynthia Ming, aged 54, initially pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity for the killing of Angie Melissa Moore, 45, on September 7, 2022. However, she later changed her plea to guilty and accepted a 50-year sentence agreement from the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office.
Moore called 911 just before midnight on September 6, 2022, alerting the police about someone trying to break into her house through a window. Upon arrival at the residence on Whispering Ave, officers found the victim deceased, covered in blood, and unclothed. Ming attempted to flee but was subdued by the police using a Taser. She confessed to breaking into the victim’s home, taking a firearm from her, shooting her in the head, and consuming her blood because Moore had allegedly killed her dog.
During the court proceedings, Dr. Lee Carter, Ming’s doctor, revealed that she had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, and schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. Ming claimed to have been “electrocuted” by a live wire at her residence on the night of the incident, leading her to behave erratically. However, she insisted that she was in control of her actions at the time.
Currently incarcerated, Ming may be eligible for parole in 25 years. Nevertheless, prosecutors believe it is unlikely that she will receive a reduced sentence due to the extreme nature of the crime. The plea agreement, according to prosecutors Duncan Widmann and Luke McCowan, provides a similar outcome as a conviction for capital murder, avoiding the risks associated with a trial and lengthy appeals process.
Clay Thomas, Ming’s attorney, expressed readiness to proceed to trial but respected his client’s decision to accept the plea deal. In emotional victim impact statements, Martha and Marvin Moore, Ming’s parents, described the profound impact of their daughter’s absence on their family, including her son Conner, who referred to Ming as “Satan’s puppet.” The parents also detailed years of alleged harassment from Ming, labeling her as “a force of pure evil” residing across the street.
Marvin Moore directly addressed Ming in court, condemning her as a “cold-blooded murderer” and expressing his desire for her to remain incarcerated. He recounted the devastation of losing his daughter and emphasized his wish for Ming to face the consequences of her actions.
