Beauty brand Malin + Goetz has gone into administration, leading to the closure of its seven stores across the UK. The impacted locations include London branches such as Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, affecting over 70 jobs.
While online orders are currently on hold, the company assures customers that they will resume operations soon. In the meantime, consumers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products from third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson from Malin + Goetz stated that after a thorough business evaluation and exploring all options, the decision to place the UK business into administration was made, resulting in store closures and the shutdown of the head office. They acknowledged the unfortunate job losses and the impact on employees and customers.
Founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz started with a small product line catering to all skin types and has since expanded into various beauty categories, including fragrance and body care.
The website is expected to be back online after a brief maintenance period, although the exact duration is unclear.
