A young woman named Rebecca Park, who was about to give birth, went missing after getting into a dark car outside her mother’s house. Concerns arose as she was 38 weeks pregnant, prompting a frantic search by her loved ones and authorities. Her abandoned phone near her home added to the worry.
According to arrest documents, Rebecca was allegedly taken by her mother, Cortney Bartholomew, and stepfather, Bradly Bartholomew, to a remote area in north Michigan where a horrific incident unfolded. Cortney reportedly attempted to cut her unborn grandchild from Rebecca’s stomach, while Bradly held a knife to her throat and later stabbed her multiple times.
The motive behind the gruesome attack is said to be revenge, as Cortney was involved in an affair with Rebecca’s fiancé, Richard Lee Falor. Cortney claimed that Richard had tried to incriminate Bradly and that Bradly wanted to harm Richard. Shockingly, Cortney admitted to trying to save the baby by cutting it from Rebecca’s womb to take it to Richard.
Tragically, Rebecca did not survive the brutal attack, suffering multiple stab wounds and other injuries. Her body was found weeks later, revealing the horrifying fate she endured. Bradly was accused of further violence against her, including cutting her throat and dragging her body away.
Cortney confessed to disposing of the baby in a dumpster after placing it in a bag and a cool box. Following the discovery of Rebecca’s remains, her sister Kimberley Park and Richard were arrested. Kimberley faced charges related to misleading authorities and tampering with evidence.
Reports also suggest that Kimberley was romantically involved with Richard, similar to Cortney. Initially denying involvement in the murder, Cortney and Bradly reportedly turned against each other during police questioning.
