An influencer was taken into custody for allegedly instructing a criminal group to harm two individuals who supposedly burglarized her residence. Identified as Izabela Paiva, 26, she was apprehended as part of a law enforcement operation against organized crime. Paiva was informed about the break-in at her home in Porto Velho, located in the heart of Brazil’s Amazon region, while she was away, as per investigators.
Rather than contacting law enforcement authorities, Paiva purportedly directed members of the feared Comando Vermelho gang to apprehend the intruders, discipline them, and recover her stolen belongings. The Rondônia State Civil Police stated that despite being fully aware of the gravity of the situation, the suspect opted not to involve the authorities.
Authorities suspect that Paiva not only maintains “close connections” with Comando Vermelho but may also hold a significant position within the gang, as reported by NeedToKnow. The influencer, a mother of two, frequently showcases a lavish lifestyle on social media, displaying jet skis, stacks of money, and high-end vehicles to her audience of over 100,000 followers. Established in Rio de Janeiro prisons during the 1970s, Comando Vermelho, or Red Command, stands as one of Brazil’s oldest and most influential criminal organizations.
The gang is engaged in illicit activities such as drug trafficking, weapon smuggling, and organized crime across multiple regions, known for engaging in violent territorial disputes with rivals like the Primeiro Comando da Capital. The operation to apprehend Paiva was codenamed “Arur Betach,” a condensed Hebrew phrase meaning “cursed is the one who trusts,” which she allegedly posted on social media shortly after the burglary incident.
This development follows an inquiry by authorities in Brazil after the tragic deaths of an influencer and her teenage daughter. Lidiane Aline Lorenco, 33, and 15-year-old Miana Sophya Santos were found deceased in their 11th-floor apartment following concerns raised by neighbors. The residents reported an unpleasant smell emanating from the apartment after losing contact with the pair. Firefighters were dispatched to the Rio de Janeiro building and forcibly entered the unit after receiving no response.
Upon entering, they discovered Lidiane in a bedroom and Miana in the living room, both having passed away some time ago.
