Bárbara Jankavski, the Brazilian social media influencer known as Human Barbie, has had her cause of death officially determined. Tragically, she passed away at the age of 31 on November 2, 2025, when she was found unconscious in the São Paulo residence of Renato Campos Pinto de Vitto, a 51-year-old public defender. Authorities have now confirmed that her death was accidental and resulted from the use of cocaine.
After the confirmation of her death, an investigation was launched following Pinto de Vitto’s statement to the police that he had paid Jankavski for sexual services on the night she died. According to a police report, he claimed that both of them had consumed illegal substances before going to sleep.
Despite the alignment of her cause of death with the version provided by the public defender, relatives of the influencer have raised doubts about the official findings. Pinto de Vitto reportedly called emergency services upon realizing that Jankavski was unresponsive while sleeping. He mentioned attempting to assist her for nearly nine minutes before paramedics arrived, but she was already deceased by the time medical professionals reached the scene.
Reports indicate that when the São Paulo State Military Police arrived at the flat, Jankavski was found wearing only underwear and had bruising on her back and an injury near her left eye. A friend informed the police that she had fallen and injured her face earlier in the week. Jankavski had garnered a significant following on social media platforms, with 55,000 Instagram followers and 344,000 on TikTok, by documenting her aesthetic transformation journey.
Known for undergoing 27 plastic surgeries to resemble a Barbie doll, Jankavski’s last known procedure was a facelift in June 2025. She had been absent from social media for over a month before her untimely death. Her final post featured a video with another content creator, Avós Da Razão, where she expressed her admiration for the person.
