Hyperoptic, a leading broadband provider, has recently announced a substantial price increase for its customers mid-contract. Starting in April 2026, customers can expect their monthly bill to rise by £4, up from the previous increase of £3.
This price adjustment will impact both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previously stating opposition to annual price hikes, Hyperoptic has joined several major telecom companies in implementing larger increases in recent months.
In 2023, Hyperoptic’s policy director, James Fredrikson, emphasized the company’s stance against mid-contract price rises, emphasizing transparency and commitment to the advertised prices throughout the contract duration.
Sky Mobile has also revealed a £1.50 monthly bill increase for the majority of its customers, effective February 14, 2026. O2 has announced a £2.50 monthly rise for most mobile and SIM-only contract customers starting in April 2026, higher than the initially planned £1.80 increase.
Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a £1.80 monthly price hike from April 2026, an increase of 80p compared to the current rise. Customers with data plans between 4GB and 100GB will see a £1.90 increase, while those with over 100GB will experience a £2.30 rise.
Additionally, Three broadband subscribers will encounter a £3.50 monthly increase from April 2026, while Vodafone mobile customers signing up from November 12 will witness a £2.50 or £1.50 rise for Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband users will also face a £3.50 monthly price hike.
For consumers out of contract, it is advisable to compare prices online to potentially save money on mobile and broadband services. Evaluating current usage patterns for minutes, texts, and broadband speed can help identify unnecessary expenses. Consider switching providers or negotiating with your current provider for better deals. Eligible individuals receiving benefits should explore options for reduced social tariffs.
