Terrifying video footage captured the moment a runaway tipper truck collided with a garbage truck and cars after running through traffic lights. The incident occurred in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, on Tuesday morning when the out-of-control lorry descended a hill, according to police reports. Dashcam footage revealed the traffic light turning green as vehicles, including a garbage truck and cars, started moving forward.
The tipper truck, speeding from the left, crashed into the vehicles, causing significant damage. The collision ripped off the front cabin of the garbage truck, leaving mud and debris scattered on the road. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department responded to the accident nine minutes after being notified at 9:07 am. They found three injured foreign men and a 34-year-old woman at the scene, all of whom were rescued and handed over to paramedics.
Subsequently, authorities confirmed a total of six individuals were injured, including the 35-year-old local tipper truck driver. One victim sustained a broken leg. The police detained the tipper truck driver for questioning and initiated an investigation into the incident. In a separate incident earlier this year, a lorry narrowly avoided a collision after veering across a central reservation on a motorway in the UK. Peter Stone, a 55-year-old driver, skillfully evaded the oncoming lorry by swerving into the middle lane, preventing a potential disaster. Stone commended his quick reflexes and the lack of injuries in the incident.
