A mother of four was fatally shot by her former boyfriend, who authorities say left her for dead in a shopping center parking lot. Savannah Kulla, aged 29, was tragically discovered deceased outside a shopping mall after her ex-partner, Anthony Deschepper, 38, allegedly abandoned her body there. The incident occurred in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where the 38-year-old reportedly kidnapped Savannah and their one-year-old child before the mother’s body was found. Fortunately, the baby was later found safe with relatives who informed the police that Deschepper had dropped the child off with them. Law enforcement swiftly issued an alert and initiated a search for the ex-partner.
Following a pursuit, local police and Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit located Deschepper at a gas station in Niagara Falls around 2:30 am the next day. In a press release, authorities disclosed that Deschepper was shot and killed by a police officer during an encounter. Despite efforts by paramedics, the 38-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Upon inspection, a firearm was discovered at the scene, although there was no indication that Deschepper had fired the weapon. Another individual, whose identity and relationship to Deschepper remain undisclosed, was apprehended at the scene. Allegedly, this person was driving the vehicle in which Deschepper was traveling before his encounter with law enforcement.
The victim’s devastated mother, Karen, revealed that her daughter had recently ended her relationship with Deschepper. Karen shared with CityNews Everywhere that Savannah had expressed a need to distance herself from him due to his obsessive behavior. She described him as deeply infatuated with Savannah, to the extent of obsession, which led her to repeatedly end the relationship.
Karen expressed her profound grief over her daughter’s tragic death, highlighting Savannah’s dedication to her four children. She confirmed that Savannah and Deschepper shared a one-year-old child, with the other three boys currently residing with their father, Savannah’s previous partner. Karen expressed relief that Deschepper was no longer a threat, particularly concerning the safety of her grandsons.
After the incident, a GoFundMe campaign was launched by one of Savannah’s childhood friends to support her children. The fundraiser emphasized Savannah’s unwavering love for her children, describing how her world revolved around them. The family aims to ensure that Savannah’s children receive the care, stability, and love she would have provided them daily.
