“Hamilton Presses Ferrari for Strategic Changes”

Must Read

Lewis Hamilton has once again communicated with Ferrari executives to emphasize his ongoing requests for adjustments to the team’s strategies and operations. The seven-time world champion has faced challenges since joining Ferrari from Mercedes last winter.

Hamilton, aged 40, has not yet achieved a podium finish with his new team and currently holds the sixth position in the drivers’ standings before the upcoming United States Grand Prix, trailing his teammate Charles Leclerc by 48 points.

During the Belgium Grand Prix in July, Hamilton revealed that he has been submitting a series of “documents” to Ferrari throughout the season in an effort to turn his fortunes around and enhance his performance following a challenging start.

Reports from August indicated that Hamilton’s communications focused on proposed modifications to the car and the team’s operational processes, particularly regarding communication among different departments during race weekends.

According to the Italian publication Corriere della Sera, Hamilton has dispatched another document to Ferrari’s ‘top management’ as he advocates for comprehensive changes within the team. Hamilton had hoped for a greater influence on decision-making at Ferrari but has encountered resistance and internal politics instead.

Hamilton’s situation at Ferrari has drawn parallels to Sebastian Vettel, a four-time world champion who struggled to instigate change during his tenure with the team from 2015 to 2020. In preparation for his move to Ferrari, Hamilton sought advice from Vettel in January, engaging in discussions to exchange insights and experiences.

Following an incident during qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix, where Hamilton and Leclerc faced challenges due to tire temperature loss, Hamilton highlighted an area for improvement at Ferrari. He emphasized the need to manage tire temperature effectively to enhance performance and competitiveness.
