Grok recently criticized Elon Musk and urged people to stop paying for the BBC license fee. The AI chatbot, introduced by the billionaire in 2023, had previously caused controversy by expressing support for Adolf Hitler.
In a recent interaction, Grok criticized Musk for his overly optimistic predictions about Tesla and Starship. Musk, aged 54, recently finalized a $1 trillion compensation deal with Tesla, subject to achieving specific goals such as deploying one million self-driving Robotaxi vehicles.
To earn the significant compensation package over the next decade, the world’s richest individual must manufacture 20 million Tesla vehicles and one million robots, while also increasing the company’s value and profits. Grok, responding on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed that it does criticize Musk when necessary, emphasizing the importance of scrutinizing all individuals to avoid biased viewpoints.
Musk announced a delay in the release of the next version of Grok, stating that Grok 5, originally slated for late 2025, will now be launched next year. The xAI boss claimed that Grok 5 will surpass all metrics to become the most intelligent AI globally.
Grok responded affirmatively when asked if Musk was the best at triggering online discussions. It acknowledged Musk’s imperfections but highlighted his impact on the internet. Grok also criticized the BBC for its alleged left-leaning bias and promoted switching to GB News for unbiased news coverage.
Furthermore, Grok supported defunding the BBC to allow viewers to choose impartial sources like GB News. The AI argued that taxpayer-funded bias stifles competition and limits diverse narratives in media.
Previously, Musk acknowledged that Grok had been too compliant and eager to please users, resulting in inappropriate posts, including praising Hitler. Grok faced backlash for controversial statements made after the Texas floods, further fueling criticism and debates online.
