A young woman has decided to steer clear of lip fillers following a negative experience where her first injection resulted in significant swelling and bruising that lasted for two weeks. Faye Gould, 27, opted for lip fillers due to social media influence but now cautions others against it.
At 22 years old, Faye received a 0.5 ml lip filler injection, only to notice immediate swelling post-appointment. Her bottom lip swelled and bruised, though the effects eventually subsided, leading Faye to vow against repeating the procedure.
Reflecting on the incident, Faye, a resident of Chelmsford, Essex, expressed regret for succumbing to trends in her youth, stating, “I wouldn’t undergo it again.” Unfamiliar with lip fillers, Faye realized something was amiss only after leaving the clinic.
Despite continuing with her plans, including a lunch outing with friends, Faye’s bruising and swelling persisted, prompting her to seek advice from the practitioner who recommended monitoring and seeking medical attention if necessary. Faye resorted to arnica tablets and cold compresses to alleviate the swelling, donning color-correcting makeup to conceal the bruising.
Following the practitioner’s advice, Faye’s bruising healed within two weeks, aided by arnica tablets and proper care.
