“Ukrainian ‘Ghost’ Unit Strikes Major Blow to Russian Defenses”

Must Read

A specialized Ukrainian “ghost” unit has successfully obliterated two significant Russian radar stations and a launch platform for Moscow’s anti-aircraft missile system in the eastern Donbas region, as revealed by the Mirror. Known as ‘ghost’ due to their stealth tactics, these covert drone operatives infiltrated enemy territory unseen by Russia. Their targets included two Podlet low-altitude radars and a 9A82 missile launcher, aimed at impeding Russian advancements in the area.

The elimination of the anti-air defense system not only weakens Russian positions but also provides Ukraine with strategic opportunities to launch more impactful assaults on Russia’s key industrial and energy facilities. Additionally, a Russian troop-carrying truck was destroyed in a drone strike orchestrated by special forces units to divert Moscow’s troops from their primary offensives.

Described as a “bonus” by Ukraine’s intelligence agencies, the destruction of the troop-carrier was an unexpected success during the drone attack on the weapon installations. Amid reports of Russian troops entering the besieged city of Pokrovsk, Kyiv refuted claims of Ukrainian forces being ‘surrounded’ as misinformation. The city’s fall could potentially facilitate deeper Russian incursions into Ukraine, as President Putin persists in the assault despite U.S. calls for a peaceful resolution.

Recent operations by Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) have targeted key Russian military assets, such as the S-300V anti-aircraft system, in the occupied Donbas region. By dismantling Russia’s air defense capabilities, Ukraine aims to disrupt Moscow’s industrial infrastructure. President Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian-made long-range strikes on Russian refineries have significantly reduced Moscow’s oil refining capacity.

As Ukraine intensifies efforts to disrupt Russia’s energy economy, global sanctions are impacting Moscow’s financial resources. The upcoming U.S. sanctions against Russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil are expected to further squeeze Russia’s oil and gas exports. Concurrently, diplomatic efforts continue, with President Trump’s planned discussions with Chinese leaders potentially leading to reduced purchases of Russian oil by major customers like China and India.

The deliberate targeting of Russia’s energy export capabilities is a focal point of Ukraine’s military strategy to undermine Putin’s financial resources for the ongoing conflict. Western sanctions, coupled with Ukraine’s tactical strikes on Russian military assets, are collectively pressuring Moscow’s war economy. Recent successes by Ukraine’s “Ghosts” in destroying radar and missile systems demonstrate their growing impact on Russian infrastructure.
