“Kamala Harris Eyes Future Presidential Run”

Must Read

Kamala Harris is contemplating a potential presidential run in the future, expressing her determination by stating, “I am not done.” Despite her defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 election, Harris hinted at her aspirations during an interview with the BBC, suggesting that she could foresee a female president in the lifetime of her grandnieces, with the possibility of it being herself.

Emphasizing her commitment to public service throughout her career, Harris dismissed her status as an outsider by bookmakers in the race for the Democratic Presidential candidacy. Polls show her leading the pack, with a national average placing her 3.6 points ahead of her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom. Pete Buttigieg, the former Transport Secretary under President Biden, trails behind at just 9.6%.

Despite her favorable polling numbers, Harris remains cautious, stating that she does not rely on polls for decision-making, recalling her past decisions to run for political offices. Criticizing former President Trump, she labeled him a “tyrant” and highlighted his actions targeting political satirists, citing the example of Jimmy Kimmel.

Harris also criticized business leaders who complied with Trump’s demands, pointing out a list published by the White House detailing companies and individuals who contributed funds for Trump’s extravagant ballroom project. She accused these entities of bowing to Trump’s authority for various motivations, including seeking favor or avoiding scrutiny.

The full interview with Harris will air on Sunday as part of a BBC One program hosted by Laura Kuenssberg.
