“Expert Offers Winter Health Tips”

Must Read

An expert in the medical field has recently offered valuable health tips to help individuals stay healthy during the winter season. He highlighted the prevalence of various illnesses circulating within the community at present.

With the onset of colder temperatures, there is typically a rise in cases of colds, flu, Covid, and other sicknesses. This trend is attributed to the enhanced survivability of bugs in cold, dry conditions, coupled with increased indoor interactions among people.

Although complete immunity from illnesses is unattainable, there are several preventive measures that can be adopted to reduce the risk of falling ill. One healthcare specialist turned to TikTok to share further insights.

Known as Doctor Sooj, or Dr. Suraj Kukadia, he posted a video titled “ultimate health hacks to stay healthy this winter.” He emphasized, “Concerned about catching the prevalent coughs, colds, and runny noses going around? Here are effective home remedies categorized to help maintain good health, along with practices to avoid.”

Maintaining proper hygiene habits is a key strategy in minimizing the risk of contracting illnesses. Dr. Soof stressed the significance of hygiene practices such as avoiding close contact with symptomatic individuals and ensuring adequate ventilation in crowded settings.

He advised, “Regular handwashing and refraining from touching your face are crucial. Additionally, practice proper sneezing and coughing etiquette by using tissues or your elbow, and refrain from sharing personal items with individuals displaying cold symptoms.”

Furthermore, Dr. Sooj outlined steps to follow if feeling unwell, suggesting hydration, warm beverages like apple juice, and remedies for a sore throat. He mentioned the potential benefits of vitamin C and zinc, nasal rinsing with saline, and the cautious use of certain pharmacy treatments.

He also recommended gargling with warm salt water, utilizing nasal sprays with caution, and using pain relief measures like paracetamol and ibuprofen for symptom management. Employing a cool mist humidifier was suggested to alleviate congestion, with a reminder to maintain proper cleaning practices for the device.
