Newly released emails have shed light on the connection between Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, and former Prince Andrew. The royal biographer of the disgraced prince considers these emails to be the final blow to his reputation.
Following his association with the disgraced financier, Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal titles by King Charles. Buckingham Palace issued a strong statement in support of abuse survivors, severing ties with Andrew. As a result, Andrew has agreed to relinquish his long-held residence at Royal Lodge, where he had been paying a nominal rent to the Crown Estate for over two decades.
Reports suggest that Andrew has been offered a luxurious residence in Abu Dhabi if he opts to leave the UK, similar to the path taken by King Juan Carlos I of Spain. However, current indications point to Andrew relocating to a property on King Charles’s expansive private estate in Norfolk, Sandringham.
In light of the new Epstein emails, Andrew’s biographer, Andrew Lownie, emphasized the contradictions in Andrew’s statements about his relationship with Epstein. Despite Andrew’s claims of cutting ties with Epstein in 2010, the emails reveal ongoing communication between the two. Epstein confirmed in an email the existence of a photo showing Andrew with accuser Virginia Giuffre, a controversial figure in the case.
Lownie believes that the recent revelations mark a turning point for Prince Andrew, exposing the extent of his involvement with Epstein. He suggests that Andrew should be treated as a potential flight risk and have his passport confiscated pending further investigation.
Reports from sources indicate that Andrew may have been extended an offer of a new residence in Abu Dhabi as a gesture of goodwill for his previous role as a trade envoy to the UK. Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment on the matter.
