“Eubank Jr Unsure of Benn Rematch Terms”

Must Read

Chris Eubank Jr recently revealed that the upcoming rematch with Conor Benn is not finalized yet. The highly anticipated fight is set to take place on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking their second meeting after Eubank Jr secured a narrow victory in their initial bout in London.

Initially scheduled for September 20, the rematch encountered uncertainties when Eubank Jr expressed concerns about being ready for the proposed date. However, after negotiations between the two camps, an agreement was eventually reached. Despite both fighters signing contracts for two matches before their first encounter, Eubank Jr disclosed that there are still unresolved terms to address.

During an interview on Ring Magazine’s Inside the Ring podcast, Eubank Jr mentioned that the final contract for the fight is yet to be fully agreed upon. He emphasized the ongoing negotiations to ensure all aspects of the agreement are satisfactory for both parties. The rules for the rematch are expected to mirror the first fight, with both fighters set to meet at 160lbs and a 10lb rehydration clause in place.

Eubank Jr’s promoter, Ben Shalom, raised concerns about the rehydration clause, stating that Eubank Jr is hesitant to commit to it again due to past health issues. Despite facing pressure to adhere to certain clauses, Shalom highlighted the need for fairness and health considerations in boxing agreements.

The 12-round middleweight rematch is scheduled for November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Although specific timings have not been confirmed, the undercard is likely to start at approximately 5 pm UK time, with the main event ringwalks expected around 9:50 pm UK time. Broadcast details for the event will be announced closer to the date.
