Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent activities by neglecting her responsibilities to develop and promote her mental health startup.
The investors contributed around $1.2 million USD ($1.67 million) to Wondermind Global, a venture introduced in 2021 with a mission to enhance users’ “mental fitness,” as stated in the legal complaint filed in federal court in Delaware.
According to the investors, assurances were made that Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would play an active role in the company’s marketing efforts. However, they claim that Gomez and other company executives did not follow through on their commitments, including the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit alleges that Gomez purportedly agreed to fulfill contractual obligations but failed to do so, with the plaintiffs asserting that the company lacked a viable business plan and failed to meet basic responsibilities such as timely payment of employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter.
The legal action contends that the investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until a news article surfaced online in September 2025, outlining the issues. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments and legal expenses incurred.
