A major flight delay was reportedly caused by a woman engaging in a dispute in the departure lounge and insisting on sitting next to her partner. The incident unfolded on November 2, resulting in a delay of one hour and 40 minutes as the couple argued while waiting to board the airplane.
Allegedly, the woman accused her boyfriend of infidelity, while he countered by claiming she had behaved inappropriately during intimate moments and had been eyeing other female passengers. She also asserted that her partner had sexually assaulted her multiple times, backing up her claim with medical documentation.
Upon boarding the Airbus A320 for the HK Express flight UO559 from Da Nang to Hong Kong, the couple found themselves seated apart. The woman demanded to be relocated next to her boyfriend, despite the assigned seating arrangement. Flight attendants explained that changes were not possible, leading to further confrontation.
The situation escalated as the woman confronted the crew and reportedly pushed a flight attendant. Subsequently, she was restrained by other crew members, with a warning that she might be removed from the flight if she did not calm down. Despite her requests to remain on board, she allegedly became aggressive again, resulting in her and her partner being escorted off the plane.
The aircraft eventually departed, arriving at Hong Kong International Airport approximately 71 minutes behind schedule. HK Express, known for its affordable fares and regional flight network, operates as a popular low-cost airline based in Hong Kong.
